Hi, welcome on my page of Fashion and Design, thank you for your visit.
I am Monika Bakos - born in Salgotarjan (Hungary) a few decades ago. My birthplace is a real modern design-town, which inspiration has naturally integrated into my blood, such as the rural environment where I spent all my childhood summers with my grandparents.
I started fashion-design and sewing at the age of 14, and as my passion did not reduce, I decided to continue my studies in this direction after gymnasium. In Budapest I closely met and fell in love with Art deco, art nouveau and secession.
I recieved my first BSc Diplom in the Polycollage of Lightindustrie, Budapest (Faculty: clothing, leather and textil) in 2002. As unforatunately that was the period, when lightindustrie just went generally into bankruptcy, I needed to find job in another sector. As of my work, I moved to Vienna in 2014, and a few years later, I restarted my studies in direction to my passion. I obtained Men&Women Tailoring and Fashion-Design Diplom of the Italian Sitam Modeakademie in 2023 and 2024.
Today I serve orders of individual needs of clothing (0-100 years of age, all gengers), I create the individual personal patterns and make the unique show-piece of the wished item. When I design - and if the project allows me to let my fantasie fly - I love to use plain (sometimes brave) colours, making them individual with tricky patterns, unusual textures and/or assymetry, ending up in an elegant look, but expressing personality. My current style would probably most fit to modern-art deco.
